I see that you have a large number of Fast-Services that seam like we could use, but they also seem to overlap in some places. I am also not sure if we should use the Fast-Service or the Process-service?
When ever you focus on a point solution, you pick-up risks. That's not to say it won't work. Most of our clients don't have the time to address an entire value stream, or process, yet they want and expect results from they're performance improvement efforts. We have found from serving hundreds of organizations across many industries that it is do able. Other approaches may work, but this is whats worked for us and our clients, and we're sticking to it.
You need to find the key constraint to the process you are wanting to improve, and then add or subtract practices to break the constraint.
Consider the above diagram. Its hard to determine the key constraint visually, it could be "Conversion" or "Diffusion", I'm not sure which is the tallest. So you can use a standard principle in performance improvement and select "Conversion" because it is upstream from "Diffusion".
Now, what would be the effect of improving any Ideation process? Lowering that constraint will increase the flow rates in the front of the pipeline, but quickly be stuck, or constrained by your Conversion constraint. The result would be no improvement regardless of how much you invest in front-end improvements such as gathering market evidence. In fact, we've seen times when improvements upstream make the problem worse. As you see in this diagram, its easy to imagine the front-end clogging up the constraint, and slowing the overall flow out of the pipe.
If you address a downstream constraint, then everything downstream flushes out more quickly than the opportunities being constrained upstream. This results in a short-term performance improvement. But as soon as the back end is flushed out, performance levels moves back to the previous rates of the key constraint because you haven't done anything to break the key constraint.
The Self-Assessment and constraint analysis help you focus on your key constraint and then using systems thinking and constraint analysis your key constraint can be quickly identified, and a Fast-Service™ recommended. The Fast-Service™ was designed to be a point solution leveraging this kind of capability, focusing on what will bring quick lasting results. In fact, the Fast-Service™ comes with a 30-day money back guarantee. This by itself, demonstrates the effectiveness and uniqueness of this offering.
