The hypercube technology within Integrated PM takes huge volumes of data and turns it into actionable insights. Data hypercubes are used to represent data along multiple dimensions of interest. Many data mining applications naturally lead to modeling and inference problems utilizing data hypercubes as the main data structure.

The Hypercube supports:

On-line analytical processing (OLAP) to examine large amounts of data to produce results, allow complex queries, often using grouping, support time-series analysis using historical data, support data mining, support ad-hoc queries and unanticipated types of analysis. 

Broad decision-making across the various business goals and objectives of the enterprise departments and project or product portfolios. Resource sharing across the enterprise roadmap.

Collect data from multiple operational databases, taken at different periods of time (historical data). Sources may have different models or standards; data hypercubes integrate this data

May include data from other sources, summarized data, performance data, and metadata. Optimized for efficient query processing and presentation of results.

Each dimension within the hypercube can represent a different specialty of the Integrated PM System, i.g. portfolio, product, and projects, along with state and performance variables. This makes the categorization of project data, the study of interrelations and correlations between dissimilar data easier to analyze, test and leverage to support new effect-cause-effect thinking.
