e-Learning Free Courses

“If I participate in the Center of Excellence on-line courses, then I can expect courses using Integrated PM following standardized best practices in adult training today, but I want to test the courses and see if they will help me in my current circumstances.”

This Blog posting maintains a listing of the e-learning, free courses offered at the Center of Excellence. If you don’t see a course, feel free to request a topic in the comments section at the bottom of this post.

Project Planning Essentials- Project Planning requires different skillsets than Project Management. This course content will increase over time as members make comments and add to the forum. The course contains sections on Where to Start- Needed Information, The WBS- How to make a task list, Estimating Planned Hours- Controlled, Estimating Durations- Uncontrolled, Resources- Task assignments with constraints, Predecessors- Sequences tasks to optimize resource usage, and How-to Finish.

Integrated PM- Integrated PM is of importance because of its ability to increase project performance. By applying practices normally found within Systems Thinking, Management Science, and the proven practices of the PMI. The course contains sections on Portfolio Management using Integrated PM Principles, Program Management using Integrated PM, Project Management using Integrated PM, Risk Management using Integrated PM, Value Management using Integrated PM, Resource Management Using Integrated PM, and Knowledge Management using Integrated PM.

Performance Management Frameworks- The pmNERDS Center of Excellence has invested over 10 years developing and deploying Performance Measure Frameworks across a variety of industries. If you’d like to develop your own, we can at least share with you our experience, and let you leverage some of our findings. The sections of this course will cover; how to identify relevant framework domains; how to use strategic business objectives; the creation of organizational enabler categorizations and correlations; identifying organization enablers; typical practices within standard domains; practice measure targets; practice policies, processes, procedures, and updates; and assessment performance measures.

Continuous Performance Improvement Preparation- This course helps leadership prepare for deploying a Continuous Process Improvement initiative. Sections include an introduction to Continuous Process Improvement, Planning for Continuous Process Improvement, preparing for a Continuous Process Improvement, identifying your Integrated PM domain enablers.
