“If I participate in conversations, then I’ll find meaningful ways to contribute to Integrated PM, but how do I do something more than talk?”
“I’m tired of just talking, I want to do something!” Excellent, because we need your ideas and help. But you also might just want to have fun and meet others. In either case, ‘Groups’ are the way to do it. Once signed in, you can join existing groups or create your own. There are two types of groups, public and private.
PRIVATE GROUPS- When created, you have an option to make the group require invitations to join. This is a private group. Once invited, they can join, and participate as normal. A private group may form to do the planning of a local trade show for Integrated PM.
PUBLIC GROUPS- If you decide to make the group public anyone can join. The sponsoring of global fireside chats, where some members plan the event, others present Integrated PM Topics, and still others participate by attending.
As a member of a group, public or private you can have conversations that are only seen by group members. Tasks can be defined to help accomplish the group purpose, members can be assigned to the tasks, and the status monitored. This is the way to get things done. “But what things”, you might ask.
Local groups plan meetings with other members at restaurants, bars, and even parks. Activities can include workshops, or maybe hiking, and camping activities. Other global groups might plan webinars and podcasts. Virtual companies use groups to coordinate operations. E-Learning course experiences can be enhanced using course groups.
These associations and events are all supported in the community, Private or Public, and real deliverables and services are being performed. Once again, the value is up to you and your participation.
